✨ Exciting News & Important Action Required for September! ✨

The Department for Education is expanding Free School Meals (FSM) eligibility. Starting this September, all children in households receiving Universal Credit will be entitled to free school meals, regardless of annual household earnings! 🍽️

⚠️ Important: Because previous transitional protections are ending, almost all families must submit a new application to ensure your child is registered for the new term—even if they currently receive free meals or weren’t eligible before.

👉 What you need to do: Complete our updated online application form as soon as possible to secure your child’s meals for the upcoming school year. https://bit.ly/3PSS07b

Once approved, you are covered until Summer 2027! Even if your child is in Nursery, Reception, Y1, or Y2 and already gets universal free meals, please still apply! A successful application unlocks vital Pupil Premium funding that directly benefits our school and your children’s learning.

Got questions or need help applying? Reach out to the school office at 01706 378991 or office@standrewsce.rochdale.sch.uk

The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) water safety guidance provides key information for everyone to stay safe. The key messages are:
    – Jumping into open water can be fatal. Cold water shock kills and you don’t know what’s lurking beneath the surface.
    – If you encourage your mates to go in the water it could be the last time you see them.
    – If you get into difficulty in the water, float to live.
    – Someone in trouble in the water? Remember Phone, Float, Throw – it could save their life. Phone 999 to get help (ask for fire if inland or the coastguard if by the sea). Tell them to stay calm and float on their back. Throw rescue equipment to help them float until emergency services arrive.
